WE REAP IN A DIFFERENT THAN WE SOW

MEMORY VERSE: And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you. 1 Thessalonians 4:11
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 63-65
Whatever one sows is what one is going to reap. Galatians 6:7 says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” One of the things we need to know about sowing and reaping is this: 'one reaps in a different season than one sows'. Galatians 8:22 says, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” The harvest never comes immediately after planting for while the earth abides, there is a seed time and harvest time. There are seasons to life, Rome was not built in a day; plants don’t grow overnight; athletes don’t become strong or professional in a week; wisdom is not gained overnight but it goes throughout all of life. What one sows, he will reap in due time. According to Hosea 8:7, if one sows wind one will reap whirlwind in due time. However, if one is not weary in well doing, sooner or later, one will reap something good (Galatians 6:9).
Because people do not see the immediate results of what they have sown, they often think they have gotten away with sin or something they should not have done. Ecclesiastes 8:11-12 says, “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him.” What you are reaping today is what you sowed several years back. What you and i are sowing today, we will reap in the future. The question is this,’ what are you sowing today ’? Why not sow prayers today so that you will not fall into temptations in the future? Matthew 26:41 says, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Sow wisely today. Don’t waste your time doing things that are not profitable. As parents, let us make sacrifices and sow into the life of our children. Let us train them in the fear of the Lord so that we will have peace of mind in our old age.
Don’t waste your time meddling into people’s business. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 says, “And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.” Many ministers of the gospel have been hurt, marriages have been broken up, friendships destroyed, jobs lost, because of meddling into people’s business. The excuse many give for interfering in the business of others is because they care. If an individual really cares, the individual will go on his or her knees and pray out of concern, not point fingers in judgement. You can sow today by getting a skill or learning a trade or better still become an apprentice. By reading books written by anointed men and women of God, books on health, finance, marriage, etc, you are sowing into your life.
NOTE: Sow a thought, reap an act. Sow an act, reap a habit. Sow a habit, reap a character. Sow a character, reap a destiny.
ACTION: Now is the time to sow. Now is the time to plan for the future. Start sowing towards your future.
