The Christian life is like running a race! Everyone is a winner, who runs the race according to God's rules and discipline themselves to compete in this race! Our destination is from Earth to glory! Each one of us has a course to run in this life, but there will be things in this life that will try to pull us off course to another direction! There are things on this journey that will try to hinder our process to prevent us from moving forward in the things of God. There are things on this road that will try to stop us dead in our tracks to prevent us from being everything that God has ordained for us to be!
So.. it requires us to have focus, discipline and eliminate anything
that could become a distraction, a hindrance, to slow us down and detour
us off the course. Discipline and self-control will help us to maintain
our focus and keep our eyes on the prize. Self-control grows by
practice! So, let's practice not looking to the left, nor to the right,
but keeping our eyes focused upon Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher
of our faith, ...for looking left or right can cause us to stumble and
fall!
